As an American Federal Contract Investigators Association (AFCIA)
Member, you will experience camaraderie within the Personnel Security
Investigations (PSI) industry that exemplifies the professional dedication
and commitment to the National and Homeland Security effort.
AFCIA MEMBERS ONLY WEBSITE ~ AFCIA Members have access to the
Association’s “Member’s Only” website where comments are posted and discussions are
conducted. You will be able to respond to others’ comments, make comments of your own,
post announcements, etc. You are even able to post comments anonymously which the
AFCIA makes every effort to maintain upon your request. All postings are moderated.
Members also have access the documents, regulations, news, and information pertaining to
the PSI industry.
PERSONAL PASSWORD PROTECTED E-MAIL ACCOUNT ~ AFCIA
Members may obtain a personal password protected e-mail account. This e-mail account
can be used for your personal e-mail or for your business or for both! It is secure and you
are the only one that has access to the account. If you are currently using Hotmail,
Yahoo, AOL, etc,, you may maintain that account and add a separate e-mail account for
other uses. You are able to choose your own e-mail address such as: JSmith@afcia.us,
JoanneSmith@afcia.us, Investigator@afcia. us, etc.
AFCIA MEMBERSHIP CARD ~ You will receive an AFCIA membership card with
your AFCIA Membership number. Your AFCIA membership card will have your
membership number on it so that when we have an election or vote on an issue, you will be
identified by your membership number.
AFCIA BUSINESS CARDS ~ You will receive an application to order your AFCIA
business cards if you choose. Your AFCIA business card has a gold foiled AFCIA logo,
your name, and identifies you as a “Federal Contract Investigator.” You may have
whatever personal information on the card (telephone, fax, cell numbers, e-mail
address, mailing address, etc.
AFCIA MEETINGS, COFERENCES, SOCIAL FUNCTIONS ~ The AFCIA
has many brunches and lunches nationwide. If you would like one in your area, let us
know. Provide us with the place, time and date and we’ll do the rest. Brunches and
lunches are usually open to everyone… AFCIA Members and Non-members. This is a
great way to meet other Investigators and Agents in your area. You may start having them
in your area where only one or two Investigators will come but it’s not long before the
numbers continue to increase.
AFCIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS - The AFCIA has a Board of Directors whom
you may contact. They are listed on the AFCIA web site. To e-mail them, click on their
name. If you have an issue, concern, or problem with a Contractor/Vendor or Agency,
contact your Regional Director or Board Member and you may learn that you’re
not the only one having the same problem! When a Director or Board Member has the
same issue, concern, or problem in multiple areas of the country, he/she will contact the
Contractor/Agency in your behalf. No Members’ name will be provided to the
Contractor/Agency. This helps to illuminate multiple telephone calls or e-mails to the
Contractor/Agency concerning the same subject.
AFCIA TRAINING - The AFCIA provides training to Members and the local
communities. The AFCIA has had training on such topics as Counter-terrorism and the
Investigation & Adjudication process. We are currently developing curriculum on other
subjects which will be provided to our Members in person or by multi-media
means. Upon completion of training, you will receive a training certificate. If you would
like to receive training on a particular subject or if you are an instructor and would like to
provide training, please let us know. Gordy Johnson is our Training Director and can be
contacted at gordyjohnson@afcia.us.
If you have any questions, concerns or ideas, feel free to e-mail your AFCIA Regional
Director or any AFCIA
Board Member.
